Parkway Series #409 12 x 16 oil $150.
My plein air group met at Thunder Ridge back in the summer to paint. (milepost 74.7) The early morning clouds were just lifting from the valley. This is one of the overlooks where the Appalachian Trail intersects the Blue Ridge Parkway so it is always fun to talk with hikers about their trail adventures!

Summer 2013
Parkway Series #408 12 x 16 oil Donated to Faith Christian School
This is the last of a Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring collection of paintings of the Buck Mountain Road/Parkway Overpass. This bridge borders the property of Faith Christian School and hopefully, the series will help raise the much needed funds for the new school. It has been very interesting to me to see how my paintings have changed over the last four years as I have completed one each year.

Incredible View
New Castle, Virginia 15 x 30 oil Sold
This view of the Blue Ridge was commissioned by Tom Palmer of New Castle. It is the view from the front deck of his home in New Castle. It makes you want to take a deep breath of clean, invigorating Blue Ridge air, and feel the morning sun as it rises higher and higher. So many are too busy to experience this, even occasionally. Can you imagine soaking this in, every morning, with a cup of coffee?

Color and Light
Parkway Series #407 16 x 16 oil SOLD
Several people have asked for another bridge painting. This one is at milepost 118 and is in a square format. I enjoyed working with purple, yellow and green on a red background. Color and light....that's what it's all about.

Late Afternoon on the Parkway
Parkway Series #406 12 x 16 oil Sold
This is the finished demo for a day spent with the Bald Knob artists in Rocky Mount. Thank you to all for your encouragement. It was great fun and I'm glad the painting turned out as well as it did. I never know when I am painting and talking at the same time what will happen!

Eternal Nature
Parkway Series #405 24 x 36 oil Sold
"It's my sense that these long-enduring mountains are like magnets to that unseen part of ourselves. We recognize in them something of our ancient, eternal nature - far more vast, deep and high than the passing identities and roles we maintain in Flatland." Liza Field
