Artisan Day at Explore Park

Tomorrow Saturday Nov 3rd. Explore Park is hosting an Artisan Day for all of their craftsmen and artists to show off our skills.  Come by and watch me paint.  I will be inside the visitor center but many others will be set up outside.  Probably last day to enjoy the Fall leaves and experience the Music, Food and Lots of Fun for the family.

From  high up on the  mountains, it is easier to get perspective on life.  The onslought of details that consume my mind and heart every day seems to fade into the valley below.  The heavens are closer and the Breath of Life blows my hair and tingles my face as I see the colors of fall descending in each leaf.  Worries and the stress of the day melt into the warm Sonshine and the smell of wet leaves brings back memories of earlier days playing in the woods.  What an incredible resource we have in our back yards....... The Blue Ridge against an orange blanket of foliage......Peace!!

Tomorrow is the Art and Music Festival at the Peaks of Otter.... Saturday Sept 29th 12-6.  Come by and visit me and Susan Oller and other artists and musicians as we celebrate the inauguration of Fall !

Today, Saturday August 11, 2018 is Family Fun Day at Explore Park.  Please come by and visit with me and see artisans explain their skills.

Explore Park will have the largest selection of my Blue Ridge Parkway paintings of any venue to date.  Opening Sunday April 15th for a family fun day, the park is located near mile post 115 on the Parkway.  Plein air events will be held on June 9th and August 11th.  Put these dates on your calendar and please come by and visit!  Go to explorepark.org for more info.

Inspirational Student Paintings

Art students of Mrs. Janet Wimmer have a show of "Inspirational Paintings" the month of February at Sweet Frog, Townside.  Classes have been studing James McNeil Whistler's Peacock Room!  Stop by and see the peacocks and other inspirational work, have a cup of coffee or enjoy the new flavors of yogurt from now until Feb 28th.  noon until closing M-Sat.  Closed on Sunday.
