Flowers do  not;  flowers die in the winter.  But we have the power to respond; we can choose to withstand the cold winds and go on to those "high mid-summer pomps" in which Our Savior already dwells and calls us, or to sink back into the cosmic winter of discontent and death.  It remains with us to follow or not.  Choices make all the difference.

                                                                Hiking a Mountain Stream

Healing, Rest, Rejuvenation....these are sought after today as an antidote to the sickness, chaos and confusion of our world.  The only place to find ourselves and our healing is in the University of the Universe that God created.  I worship Him in Spirit and in Truth when I am in my garden or on the mountains or walking in a creek or seeing the magic of His Light coming through the trees.  Going out is, for me, coming into the Presence of His Rest.

The Beauty of Light

I never tire of trying to capture the Beauty of Light.  This milestone of 500 paintings posted on my blog is a challenge I will definitely continue. My next goal is 750!  Thanks to God for the inspiration, the skill, and the ability to still paint the Beauty of His Creation!!!

Winter Reflections

Even though we have not had any snow this year , I reworked an old painting that was a summer creek.  It is fun to  look back at old paintings that failed miserably and bring them to life again.

 

When Seasons Collide

                                                          18 x 36  Original Oil  $900.  Sold

Frequently, in Virginia seasons collide.  However, I have never had a commission for a painting that represents all 4 seasons.  This was a bit of a challenge but starting at bottom right... summer is represented by the flat bottom boat turned upside down in the green weeds.  Fall continues up the painting in the orange trees;  winter is at the top of the hill in the snow around the house and spring is blooming at the bottom right in the butterfly bush.  Thanks, Aaron, for the commission.  You truly have an original painting!!
