Practicing the Presence

Smith Mountain Lake #3   16 x 20    oil     $650.

It is hard to capture the colors and the ethereal qualities of a sunset.  The definition of ethereal is:  relating to the regions beyond the earth, spiritual, marked by unusual delicacy or refinement. How do you capture the Presence of the Spirit?  I hope to find out one day when I am actually "beyond the earth" but for the time being, I will continue to practice the Presence!!

New River Gorge Bridge

New River Gorge Bridge        20 x 30      oil    SOLD

This bridge in the  Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia is the third highest bridge in the U. S. (876' about the river).  I enjoyed working on this commissioned painting, especially with the client's instructions to use "a lot of color"!

Campbell Angus Farm

Parkway Series #434 and #435     oil       SOLD

Friends who own a 200 acre angus farm offered their log cabin for a "painting" weekend and bought the plein air paintings that were done.  Because these sites were in Goose Creek Valley below the Parkway with a view of the Peaks, I have included them in my Parkway series.
