Fall Color

Parkway Series #302   12 x 16   oil     Sold

The fall color in 2010 seemed to come and go way too quickly!! It seemed that there were only two or three weeks of splendor before the winter winds ushered the leaves to the ground.  I am taking advantage of the winter doldrums and continuing to paint the beauty of fall.  From the top of Roanoke Mountain, looking south east toward Windy Gap mountain, I was able to get a great image of fall color in the valley.  The sky reflecting in the lake was an incredible azure and the complimentary oranges added the perfect contrast.

  1. Ah, this is a lovely image! Nice composition with S curves, and rich color too.

  2. I love the sense of depth in this one.
