Reflections of Life

Blue Ridge Parkway Series #492  original oil  11 x 14      $295.

Reflections in the Lake at the Peaks of Otter are always changing, depending on the light, the time of day, the wind, and the algae in the lake.  The clarity of the reflection is a result of the light and the calmness of the water.  I have learned that my reflection of Jesus is a result of His light in me and my calmness/stillness before Him.  Sooooo many lessons from nature......always amaze me.

Sunrise over Buck Mountain: It's all about the Light

Parkway Series #491  12 x 16  original oil                                    SOLD

It's all about the Light... The sun set, the sun rise, the shadows, the reflections, the highlights.  Light is never really seen without the darkness.  Even though the world seems dark right now, the Light is there and it is ready to explode on the scene.  The One who embodies Truth, Goodness and Beauty is on His way!  He has and He will again arise!

Trust

                                              Parkway Series #490   12 x 16   oil   $295.

The blue mist, the ambiguity, the precipice, the edge, the sunlight, the mystery.... attracted me to this image.  Acknowledging the blue mist of sorrow and learning to live on the edge, not knowing what is on the other side, living with ambiguity,  becoming comfortable with mystery,  and yet not fearing the precipice because of the Sonlight is the message of this painting.  TRUST is a beautiful thing!!

Rising Son

                                           Parkway Series #489    12 x 24    oil   SOLD

It's a New Day; the Sun is Rising. You cannot see the sun in this painting but you can see its effects and feel its warmth.   Our world changes every 24 hour cycle - the colors, the temperature, the humidity, the shadows.  Our world has changed in the last 30 days enormously but Our God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  Oh, for a 1,000 tongues to sing My Great Redeemers Praise!

Planted

                                      Parkway Series #488  18 x 24  original oil   $550.

"You shall be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots into the stream.  It does not fear when the heat comes.  It's leaves are always green.  There are no worries in the drought. " Jeremiah 17:8  I love being planted by the stream of Living Water!!!   Where are you planted?

The Song of the Trees

                                       Parkway Series #487   18 x 24      original oil   SOLD

"The trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth."  1 Chronicles 16:33.  Can you hear it?  Look at the painting and in the quiet of the  breeze and the sunlight you can hear the song of the trees!  In Luke 19, Jesus said that if we do not praise the Lord, the rocks and the trees will!  Go to the mountains and listen to the choir below singing for joy; it is amazing worship!

His Peace is the Answer

                                        Parkway Series # 486   18 x 24   original oil   SOLD

Seeking God, His Presence, His Peace is the answer!!   Peace is an all encompassing gift that is indepencent of all circumstances.  Though you lose everything else, if you gain His Peace you are rich, indeed.  Philippians 4:6.

Measureless Mountain Days

                                                Parkway Series #385  12 x 16    $295.

"Oh these vast calm, measureless mountain days, days in whose light everthing seems equally divine, opening a thousand windows to show us God." John Muir.   On a cold rainy day in February, it is comforting to look back on the glorious, warm sunshine and color of Fall and to look forward to the breezy pink blossoms of Spring.  Anxious to get outside to paint!!!!

Good Tidings

                                               Parkway Series # 484   12 x 16  oil     SOLD

"Climb the mountains and feel their good tidings"  John Muir.   "The hills are alive with the sound of music" Julie Andrews.  "I lift up my eyes to the mountains -  where does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth."  King David.  (Ps 121)
The ancient mountains of the Blue Ridge are to me a symbol of stability, and strength and a witness to the hand of God in the affairs of men. I so agree with John Muir...when I need good tidings go to the mountains!!

Come and Sit a While with Me

                                             Parkway Series # 483   12 x 16   oil    SOLD

"The sun shines not on us but in us.  The rivers flow not past us but through us,  thrilling, tingling, vibrating every fiber and cell of the substance of our souls, making them sing"  John Muir.  Was it John Denver that sang the song with the words.... "come and sit a while with me"?   I love to sit in the open air and think about what makes us sing, what effects the world of nature has on us, what peace we find in contemplation, how sunshine makes us happy.  Ultimately, it is our Creator God who is in us, who rejoices in our love of His Creation, who flows through us as Living Water that makes us sing and know all is right with the world.
