Parkway Series #65 11 x 14 oil Sold
At first I was thinking that monochromatic color was the hurdle but I think the lack of sun and definitive shadows was the biggest stretch for me. I am so used to painting contrast that harmony is harder to achieve due to the subtle gradations in value. I wish I could have gotten to the top of those gorgeous mountains on Sunday when the sun was out but the Parkway was closed. I guess I'll have to keep practicing these low key paintings. I'm sure the more I paint the more comfortable I will become.
